The Gephi Consortium is a legal entity created to ensure future developments of Gephi, a world-class open source software, leader in the visualization and analysis of large networks in real-time. Like Photoshop™ but for data, Gephi helps data analysts to intuitively reveal patterns and trends, highlight outliers and tells stories with their data.
We are a not-for-profit corporation governed by the French law of July 1st, 1901, equivalent of the United States 501(c)(3) organization. The Gephi Consortium has officially started on October 1st, 2010. Learn more »

Our missions
- The Consortium identifies strategic needs from the industry and research,
- create standards to ensure interoperability,
- organize the contributors to produce generic and reusable parts of Gephi,
- help newcomers in using and integrating Gephi technologies,
- and facilitate the recruiting of our skilled developers by our trusted partners.

Where will my membership funds go?
We focus on the specifications and development of the Gephi Open Source core. This distributed R&D effort for building generic and reusable parts is only made possible by the collaboration of multiple companies, research laboratories and organizations.
Your sponsorship will also allow the Gephi Consortium to:
- Pay developers to code critical features required by the members
- Set up a training program and student challenges with high quality standards
- Represent the project in public and promote it to make the community grow.
While all of the administrative effort is currently through unpaid volunteers, we finally need financial assistance to keep our work running. Expenses include server costs, legal and accounting, and normal office expenses.

We consider the technologies we develop as a public good, and will keep them in an OSI (BSD, AFL, Apache, MIT, etc.) or Free Software (GNU GPL, etc.) license.
Open innovation
We promote a bottom-up innovation process: ideas and features come from the entire community.

Decisions are made with transparency. Everyone can participate to the code and patch it with acceptance of the CLA.
